Candidate FAQ

Global Talent Pathway (GTP) is an organization focused on creating skilled migration opportunities for refugees and displaced individuals. GTP does not engage in traditional humanitarian resettlement programs but instead connects skilled refugees with employers who can offer meaningful work opportunities in countries where they can access full rights and stability. Unlike programs that offer internships or scholarships, GTP facilitates direct employment opportunities, enabling refugees to use their skills and contribute to global workforces. Through our Talent Catalog, we bridge the gap between displaced talent and employers worldwide, empowering refugees to rebuild their lives through sustainable employment.
-
If you are a refugee or forcibly displaced person seeking international employment, we invite you to create a profile on GTP’s Talent Catalog here: INSERTLINK. This is your opportunity to showcase your skills, experiences, and qualifications to potential employers around the world. To increase your chances of being matched with the right job, we encourage you to provide as much detail as possible—highlight your work experience, educational background, skills, and any languages you speak. The more comprehensive your profile, the better we can help connect you with meaningful employment opportunities that align with your talents.
-
No, registering on our Talent Catalog does not guarantee employment. While we strive to support as many people as possible, only a small number of those registered will be matched with international job opportunities. We encourage you to keep exploring other avenues as well.
You will hear from us only if an employer is interested in your profile or if we need to verify any information you’ve provided.
-
After you’ve registered, we’ll keep your profile on hand, ready for when a job that fits your skills becomes available. When an opportunity arises, we’ll get in touch to connect you with the employer.
The hiring process is handled by employers, who will make decisions based on their specific needs. If your profile matches what they’re looking for, they will set the timeline for the next steps. We’re here to guide you and will reach out as soon as we find the right match for you.
-
Here are some thoughtful tips from our team to help you:
Ensure your profile is completed with as much detail as possible, particularly in the occupations section. A clear description of your skills and experience will allow us to better match you with opportunities. If you have a CV in English, we kindly ask that you include it as well.
Keep your contact information, work history, and certificates current, so we can easily reach you when the right opportunity arises.
Double-check that your profile is fully submitted and not in draft form.
Language Skills: English remains important for both employers and visa processes. If you need to improve your English, we encourage you to make use of resources available here to strengthen your skills.
Stay Connected: Follow us on Facebook and keep an eye on this page for the latest opportunities. You can also nominate yourself for positions you feel are a great fit.
Develop Your Skills: Continue to prepare yourself for potential opportunities around the world.
Independent Employment: If you find employment on your own in countries like Australia, Canada or the UK, we may be able to assist you with relocation and legal matters. Don’t hesitate to reach out for support in such cases.
-
Our process is employer-driven, meaning we do not directly choose candidates for international employment. Instead, we help facilitate connections between skilled candidates and employers. The decision to hire is always made by the employer, based on their needs and preferences.
-
To gain a skilled work visa in an English or French-speaking country, it’s generally required to have a functional level of English (minimum IELTS score of 4.5) or its equivalent in TCF or TEF. This is often a requirement set by governments and employers alike. For senior roles, such as those in Tech or Engineering, a higher level of language proficiency is usually needed.
Most candidates begin their jobs within a month of arriving, meaning they need to quickly interact with employers, colleagues, and clients. This short timeline does not provide enough time to learn the language well enough to perform effectively in these roles.
-
Please know that having an IELTS score is not required to be considered for international employment opportunities.
However, in some cases, an IELTS score may be necessary for obtaining a visa. Some employers may also require a certain level of English proficiency. In these cases, we will assist you in taking the exam after you receive a job offer.
In the meantime, we encourage you to explore our English Resources page, where you can find helpful materials to improve your English and prepare for the IELTS.
-
No, you don’t need any documents to register on the Talent Catalog. While having a passport can make the migration process easier, it’s not required. Some skilled visa programs may need official documentation of your qualifications, but others may not. If an employer is interested in interviewing you, we will guide you on which documents are necessary at that time.
-
No, GTP connects skilled and qualified candidates with employers based on their abilities and expertise, not on their level of vulnerability.
-
Yes, if you receive a job offer, you can relocate with your immediate family, including your spouse or de facto partner and any dependent children. However, skilled visa programs generally do not allow parents or siblings to be included.
-
Yes, GTP follows strict data security and privacy protocols. You can read more in our Privacy Policy. You own the data you provide on the Talent Catalog, and if you ever need to update or delete it, simply contact us at candidates@globaltalentpathway.org.
-
If you have secured a job abroad on your own, GTP may still be able to assist with your visa application and relocation process, depending on your role and circumstances. However, we can only assist candidates who are signed up to the Talent Catalog.
If you’ve successfully secured a job abroad, please reach out to candidates@globaltalentpathway.org to discuss your options.
